Other Federal Credits

The Other Federal Credit worksheet records various non-refundable credits.

To view the Other Federal Credits Worksheet, double-click on the form named "Other Federal Credits" in the Form Manager.

Line 319  - Interest on Student Loans

Enter appropriate details in the fields provided.

Note: You cannot claim interest paid on any other kind of loan, such as:

  • a personal loan or a line of credit (even if used to pay for tuition, etc.);
  • a student loan that has been combined with another kind of loan; or
  • a student loan received from another country.

Line 362 - Volunteer Firefighters' Amount

Check the box provided if you are claiming the volunteer firefighters' amount.

Line 364 - Public Transit Passes

Enter appropriate details in the fields provided.

Generally, you can only claim public transit passes with a duration of one month or longer. Refer to CRA for more information.

Line 367 - Amount for Children Born in 1995 or Later

Check the appropriate box to designate who is claiming the amount on line 367. Refer to CRA for more information.

Line 369 - Home Buyer's Amount

Check if you are claiming the Home Buyers' Amount and the amount of your and your spouse/common-law partner's claim.

Either or both of you may be able to make the claim, but the combined total cannot exceed $5,000.

Line 409 - Federal Political Contributions

Enter appropriate details in the fields provided.

Line 476 - Tax Paid by Installments

Enter appropriate details in the fields provided. Refer to CRA for more information.

Line 438 - Tax Transfer for Residents of Quebec

You can transfer, to the province of Quebec, up to 45% of the income tax shown on information slips issued to you by payers outside Quebec. If you wish to transfer less than 45%, check the box and enter the appropriate amount in the fields provided.
