Schedule 4

Schedule 4 records various types of investment-related information.

To open Schedule 4, double-click on the form named "S4 - Investment" in the Form Manager.

The Schedule is broken down into the following sections:

Section I - Taxable amount of dividends from taxable Canadian corporations (see line 120 in the guide)

Note: The term "eligible" refers to eligibility for the Capital Gains Deduction. Refer to CRA for more information.

The amount forwarded to line 120 of the T1 General can derive itself from various locations:

  • Taxable amount of eligible dividends on a T3 slip
  • Taxable eligible dividends on a T5 slip
  • Taxable amount of dividends on a T5013 slip
  • Taxable eligible dividends on a T4PS slip

Note: There are blank lines where you can record taxable amount of dividends that would be recorded on line 120 for which you did not receive a slip. Refer to CRA for more information.

Section II - Interest and Other Investment Income (see line 121 in the guide)

The amount forwarded to line 121 of the T1 General can derive itself from various locations:

  • Interest on a T5 slip
  • Investment Income on a T5008 slip
  • Interest on a T5013 slip
  • See T5 supplementaries (Other)
  • See T5 supplementaries (Royalties)
  • CSB/QSB interest (not reported elsewhere)
  • Income from Foreign Sources (See T3 supplementaries)
  • Income from Foreign Sources (See T5 supplementaries)
  • Income from Foreign Sources (See T5013 supplementaries)
  • Other Foreign Investment Income

Note: There are blank lines where you can record Investment income that would be recorded on line 121 for which you did not receive a slip. Refer to CRA for more information.

Section III - Net partnership Income (Loss) (see line 122 in the guide)

The amount forwarded to line 122 of the T1 General can derive itself from various locations:
