31: I took part time courses. Where do I claim
my tuition fees?
Your education institution will issue you a T2202/T2202A/TL11A. Enter the relevant Information on the T2202A form from the Page Catalogue. If you wish, you can transfer the tuition fees to your spouse, parents, or grandparents. Enter the transferred amount in the page. You need to specify separately the amounts to transfer for federal and provincial purposes. Federally, you cannot transfer more than $5,000. Provincial amounts will vary, depending on your province.
If you have unused tuition amount from previous years, enter this separately on Schedule 11 and on the Provincial Schedule 11. If you do not know the unused tuition fees
amount, you can obtain this information from your Notice of Assessment or from the CRA by calling
1-800-959-8281.
