33: I'm in a common-law relationship. Will both of us will be required to file the returns together? My common-law spouse has not yet received T4 Slip.

Using Netfile, only one return can be submitted at a time. You still need to enter your spouse's net income on 'Spousal Information' under Pages Mode for the calculation of various credits.

We suggest linking your spouse's return in the same data file of yours, if it is feasible. The software will then pick-up the net income from the other spouse's return for the purpose of calculation of various credits like GST, Spousal, Childcare expenses, Provincial credits like rent etc. If this is not possible, you will be required to give the details of your spouse on the 'Spouse' page.
