Getting Started

TaxTron has been designed, by Canadians for Canadians, to allow the user to prepare their T2 corporate Canadian tax returns quickly and easily. Able to handle returns from simple to complex, electronic filing or the traditional printing and mailing of your return, the program has been engineered to prepare your return efficiently and easily, so you can sure your taxes are done correctly.

The Help file for TaxTron is an online resource. This allows the help to be kept up-to-date as new developments arise.

What's New in TaxTron

TaxTron T2 is currently at version 2017.1

Note: Fiscal year start Jan 1, 2015 and Fiscal year end Oct 31, 2017

This guide may contain changes that had not yet become law at the time of printing. It may also relate to forms not currently supported by the software.

    • New Forms

      • RC59x
      • AT3: Starting year end 2016 Alberta corporation can claim Investor’s tax credit or Capital investment tax credit.

    • Removed Forms

      • Schedule 37

    • Updated T2 Forms

      • Identification: If corporations previous taxation year ending and new taxation year starting are on same day at certain hour and minute, you can enter time in Identification dialog with date.

      • NAICS: codes are updated. Make sure to choose the most applicable code for your business even though your corporation's main business activity is same as previous year.

      • T2: new lines added for specified corporate income and assignment of business limit to other CCPC.

      • Schedule 2: New Nova Scotia food bank tax credit for farmer and BC farmer’s food donation tax credit has been added to donation work chart.

      • Schedule 7: S7 has been revised to report specified partnership income, business limit assigned by/ or assigned to member of partnership or business limit assigned to your corporation by another CCPC.

        • To make data entry easier, 4 worksheets has been added.
        • SpecifiedPartnershipIncome_workchart: Information about the partnership
        • SPIAssignee: Member’s information who is assigning business limit to your corporation.
        • SPIAssigner: Member’s information to whom your corporation is assigning business limit.
        • S7_workchart: for all other data including information about other CCPC assigning business limit to your corporation.

    • Schedule 8 and 10: Existing eligible capital property (reported on schedule 10) has been replaced with a new CCA class 14.1 to be reported on schedule 8 starting January 1, 2017. TaxTron will automatically transfer amounts from schedule 10 to schedule 8 and AT13. If you acquired any eligible capital property before January 1, 2017 enter it on schedule 10 work chart. If you acquired any eligible capital property after December 31, 2016 enter it on schedule 8 work chart.

    • RC59: updated as per new form released by CRA.
