How and where should I report my T4 having income declared with Code 11 in Box 29 for the province of Quebec?

Code 11 represents income from a placement agency.  Revenue Canada expects you to treat this income as self-employment income and report it on line 135 of the T1 - General. You have to enter the required data on a T2125 to report income from a placement agency.  For Quebec this income has to be reported as employment income on line 101 on the provincial tax return, TP1. TaxTron does not support this distinction to report income from a placement agency differently in federal and Quebec tax returns.

We recommend you proceed as follows:

Prepare the tax return for federal purposes. When you have finished, save it and NETFILE/EFILE/Print the federal tax return. Save the file distinctively so you can identify it as the Federal return, such as "Federal__100000009.t12". Without closing the return, then click on the File menu and select Save As to save a copy of the return with a distinctive name so that you can recognize it as your Quebec return, such as  "Quebec_100000009.t12". Select the  T4 slip and make the following changes. Enter the income from the employment agency as regular employment income in Box 14  and do not declare the income as Code 11 income. If you have expenses to declare against this income, you will need to add the employment expenses form "T777", and the Quebec  version "TP-59 Employees Qc" and the "TP-64.3 General employment conditions".  Then proceed to fill in any Quebec credits that you will be claiming.  Once you are finished you can generate the XML file for MRQ NETFILE/EFILE or Print the return. If you need to make any adjustments after preparing your tax returns you have to make the changes in both files i.e. in "Federal__100000009.t12" as well as in  "Quebec_100000009.t12".
