You may have heard that the tax deadline has been moved to May 5 again this year. Well, it’s true, not because there’s any security issue like with the Heartbleed bug from last year, but in this case it’s a simple mistake that works out in your favour.
An error in a recent notice by CRA sent last Friday meant that numerous people were given the deadline to be May 5, forcing the CRA to move the deadline so as not to punish those taxpayers for the CRA’s mistake.
Of course, that error means that the hours at TaxTron are going to be adjusted to match.
The tax season schedule will run as follows:
|Wednesday, April 29||9:00 am – 10:00 pm|
|Thursday, April 30||9:00 am – 10:00 pm|
|Friday, May 1||9:00 am – 10:00 pm|
|Saturday, May 2||9:00 am – 6:00 pm|
|Sunday, May 3||12:00 pm – 5:00 pm|
|Monday, May 4||9:00 am – 6:00 pm|
|Tuesday, May 5||9:00 am – 10:00 pm|
All times are Eastern Daylight Time
